Originally built by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in 1870, the building became the Secondary Hall in the Liangjiang Governor-general Yamen. During the period of the Republic of China, various official activities and ceremonies were held here, such as the diplomatic envoys presenting their credentials and so on. Although it was rebuilt several times, the traditional Chinese style inside it and a western-style porch outside the northern door of it have been retained. |
